A chance meeting between Geoff Maunder and Grant Peters while playing
snooker in 1998 was the catalyst to the forming of Trackside Photography. Geoff, a race horse owner and Grant, a Thoroughbred photographer who had recently relocated from New Zealand, were both disappointed with the quality of photography and limited range of products available for winning owners in Queensland and New South Wales.
So they vowed to produce a range of products that winning owners would be proud to showcase to family and friends.
From humble beginnings covering just one track, Trackside Photography has now grown to the stage where we now cover over 20 race tracks in Queensland and New South Wales.
In September 2016, Geoff retired and Grant became the sole owner of Trackside Photography
Trackside Photography and their group of professional photographers are leading the way with photographic quality and service. Trackside Photography are the only professional photographers to cover all Metropolitan and Provincial race meetings in South East Queensland, as well as all tracks in Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast of News South Wales.
We are constantly searching for new and innovative products to offer our customers. Our interactive website is state of the art, and very user friendly.
We cover on average 11 race meetings each and every week, and we have a range of products that is unsurpassed by any other thoroughbred photography company in Australia. We are proud to be the industry leaders.

Grant Peters - Director
Grant is a multi award winning photographer who has been involved in photographing race horses for most of his adult life. Grant photographs at many of the race meetings we cover and is also heavily involved in new product design and designing montage style photographs for that “special” win
Arlene Maunder - Office Manager
Far and away the most important person in our business, Arlene is the one who “keeps it all in place”. Arlene handles all the day to day office work in the company, as well as keeping Grant in line
Natasha Wood - Photographer/Framer
Natasha is our photographer who covers 2 or 3 race meetings per week in South East Queensland. Natasha is also very skilled in frame making, printing the photographs etc and also is part of our dispatch department. Natasha has spent much of her life involved in the thoroughbred industry
Bruce Thomas - Photographer
Bruce is our Coffs Harbour based photographer who covers most of the race meetings in that area for us. Bruce is formerly a newspaper photographer with many years experience.
